THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS: Infections of the skin and nailscaused by dermatophytes (yeast and fungi) as:
• Tinea capitis, corporis, manuum, pedis (athlete's foot), barbae.
Tinea barbae •, Cruris.
• Tinea unguium.
• Pityriasis versicolor.
• Candidiasis of skin and nails.
• Stomatitis angularis.
Miconazole exerts bactericidal (Gram-positive bacteria) so it can be used in mycosis secondarily infected by these bacteria.
Contraindications ZONILAN ® is contraindicated in patientshypersensitive to miconazole cream, or any of its excipients.
PRECAUTIONS: Not relevant because ZONILAN ® Cream appliedtopically is not absorbed.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation
Not relevant because ZONILAN ® Cream applied topically is not absorbed.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Cutaneous mycoses: With clean hands, apply some cream to the affected skin, the finger should be extended until fully penetrated the skin. This action will take place twice a day. The disappearance ofskin lesions (approximately 3 to 5 weeks) please continue the treatment for 10 days to prevent relapse.
Fungal infections of the nails: Before starting treatment, must be cutperfectly the infected nail (as much as possible). Apply a little cream, once daily to the affected nail, it should be rubbed with thefinger. The nail should be covered with an occlusive plastic band, without perforations.
By fall the nail, continue treatment without interruption until the new nail to grow and to experience the ultimate cure (in most caseswithin 7 months or more).
